ASIAN & PACIFIC ISLANDER SCHOLARSHIPS

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census;
  • Be citizens, national, or legal permanent residents of the United States.  Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply;

Kids’ Chance of Washington is a need-based scholarship program for the dependent children and spouses of workers killed or seriously disabled in a workplace accident in Washington.


MECHANICAL CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION OF WESTERN
WASHINGTON (MCAWW) UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

MCAWW offers two types of annual scholarships:

  1. The Convention & Cash Scholarship consists of an expense-paid trip to the annual MCA of America (MCAA) Convention. The convention experience provides the recipients with an opportunity to further pursue their interest in the industry as well as to achieve personal and professional growth. It also includes a cash award of $500. Up to three Convention & Cash Scholarships may be awarded.

    Eligibility requirements:

    • Applicant must be a full-time student with a major in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or other related field;
    • Applicant must have an interest in future employment in commercial construction, preferably mechnical contracting. 
    • Recipients will be required to attend one on the monthly MCAWW contractor luncheon meetings in Seattle to be introduced to the association membership. 
    • NOTE: MCA Student Chapter Presidents are not eligible for the Convention & Cash Scholarship. 
  2. The Tuition Scholarship, which totals $1500 over one academic year (pro-rated for seniors), is awarded to help promising students with the cost of school.  Payments will be made to the student's University Account in equal distributions in concordance with the school's semester/quarter schedule.  This scholarship is intended to be applied toward tuition.  If money is remaining, then it may also cover room, board, textbooks or other materials at the Committee's discretion.  Up to two Tuition Scholarships may be awarded.
    • Applicant must meet all eligibility requirements listed above in #1. 
    • If a scholarship is awarded, the recipient must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.  (Scholarship recipient will be asked to submit semester/quarterly grades). 
    • If scholarship is awarded, the recipient must remain enrolled in the Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related program for the duration of the scholarship.
