Cougar Commitment Program

What is the Cougar Commitment?

Washington State University believes that finances should not be a barrier to obtaining an education and students from all economic backgrounds should have the opportunity to attend WSU. With the Cougar Commitment Program, WSU commits to covering the cost of tuition and mandatory fees for students who otherwise could not afford to attend.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be filed each year in order for you to be considered for financial aid.

  • To receive priority (first consideration) processing for financial aid, a current year  FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file with the federal processor.  Applications filed after March 1 will be considered for assistance but after all priority applications. However we still encourage you to apply.

    • We encourage you to file on the web if you have access since we receive the results more quickly.

  • The paper form is available in our office.

    • If you wish, we can mail you an application; e-mail us at finaid@wsu.edu with your request and mailing address.

    • Paper applications are also available at your local area colleges, high schools, and other locations.

  • When filing the FAFSA you will need our federal school code: 003800.
