Client Services Coordinator

My focus is the coordination of office services for our clients. We serve our clients primarily at the service counters in our office; otherwise we provide counseling via our web site, instant messaging, over the phone, or via email. We also partner with visitation and orientation programs to advise students and parents on paying for college. My primary responsibilities include the processing of scholarships given through Colleges and departments at WSU, and scholarships awarded to students from outside donors. Other responsibilities include the processing of National Service Trust/Americorps awards, and the Future Teacher Conditional Scholarship from the Higher Education Coordinating Board. I maintain the database for the WSU Academic Scholarship Application and provide technical assistance and training to those who use our data to select scholarship recipients. My responsibilities also include processing the WAVE Scholarship and the Washington Scholar program from the Washington State Higher Education Coordinating Board, the WSU Faculty/Staff Dependent Scholarship, and the Employee Dependent Non-resident Tuition Waiver.

Financial Aid and Scholarships Coordinator –Tri-Cities Campus

I serve as the financial aid and scholarships representative on the WSU Tri-Cities campus. My primary responsibilities include providing information and guidance to current and prospective students and their families regarding the financial aid process and scholarship opportunities through one-on-one meetings, presentations and workshops. Additionally, I assist current students troubleshoot financial aid issues and delays, process short-term loans for students who’s financial aid is delayed and walk students through how changes in their circumstances and Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) can affect their financial aid.

I serve as the Financial Aid counselor to students on the WSU Spokane campus, including explanation of the financial aid process and troubleshooting problems. I process short-term loans for students whose aid is delayed. I coordinate several financial, credit and loan management programs throughout the academic year on this campus and provide information to parents and high school students at financial aid workshops for several local college success programs. I also maintain the financial aid and scholarships websites for WSU Spokane.

My duties inclde assisting WSU Vancouver students through the financial aid process. I also advise students who may have extenuating circumstances such as a change of income request or Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) questions. In addition, I clarify the scholarship process to our students and educate them as to where and how to find scholarships. I work along side our admissions counselors in community outreach by visiting high schools to adi prospective students to understand their financial aid options.
